It’s such a shame. This show starts off powerful. Stephen plays a no-nonsense officer that gets placed into a temporary position as Sheriff due to an old law, and uses that spot to bring his no-nonsense philosophy to a very corruptly run police department. The show suffers greatly with its supporting cast. Some characters, like Bishop, have an incredible pedigree given to them that doesn’t make sense with their place as a character. Why would the sheriff’s driver have an illustrious background from DC in government positions? For a woman, apparently, and one that they dump later on because of an extremely stale and tired foray into special interest pandering. Indeed, that’s Bishop’s entire character development for two entire episodes, a direct translate from their real life that doesn’t have any connection or bearing on the show itself. I had trouble getting behind the other characters in the show, many episodes in I found myself not even remembering the names of some of the regular players on the show because they just don’t stand out as they should. As far as the show plot goes, they attempt to build each episode to a climactic end but lose their way in that goal. For the first few episodes, I was enthralled and couldn’t wait for the next one. By the end of the show, I was more interested in a game on the phone and just wanted to finish to say I completed the season. It had a lot of potential, but you can pass this one by.
