Thorum is clearly an excellent phonetician- but horrible book writer. Reading this book is like an astrophysicist trying to teach a group of kindergarteners that space is past the “blue sky” they can see.
Though I’m sure this would be an excellent read for someone who is well versed in phonetics- it’s a horrible requirement for those of us just learning the course material.
