I love Melanie a lot but it's kinda clear that she didn't have enough time to put in everything she wanted to. It's kinda mashed together and I can see how to people who aren't familiar without crybababy's story can find it very confusing. I took me a few times of watching it to fully understand everything. I loved the music, the choreography and the overall aesthetic of the film but it's more a music video compilation with a vague polt line then a film. I think you really need to analyse it to understand it fully. The characters were kinda cliché and had no real development but we're still somewhat likeable. I like the fact that she tried to put in a few social issues that she feels strongly about but they feel too forced and not given enough attention. There quite a few things that are hard to understand without context In this and unfortunately the context isn't really given in the film.You need to look into the metaphors and such to fully understand what's going on. Overall I really liked it but I don't think it's for everyone. I'm looking forward to her next film and I'd love to see her learn, grow and improve. 💕
