Marc Hampton

Im on board and enjoying the escapism because I love the era and know it well... but a major drawback for me is the main character Marian is just a bland, pleasant, flawless ingenue...there is nothing there to grab on to. In fact...many of the characters are one-dimensional and seem to lack secrets, eccentricities, flaws, dark sides, etc. Everyone gets along a little too well... which means a lack of bite and conflict overall. Social imbalance can't carry the whole series. I need gossip, plotting, duplicity and some evil please... Maybe this will change as the series evolves...but for now Im just enjoying the detail and atmosphere and just soaking it all in.
