Great to see the band back together again. I was a big fan of the first two series and I want to be fair about this one. At first viewing, I thought too much of it was concentrated on getting their bikes charged. Looking at it again, however, it seems natural for it to play out that way. Charlie himself professed to being a natural worrier and I'm sure we've all seen that in Ewan's personality in the first two series, even if he didn't always show it. He was more likely to just get down and stay quiet. They were venturing into uncharted territory for them when it came to the eco-friendly vehicles and it's kind of hard to mask that anxiety when you naturally start to feel stranded, whether or not you have backup in place, or if you're a celebrity or not. You can start to see once they dialed in better results by keeping the bikes warm, they relaxed quite a bit more and the charging was less on their mind. As far as what was commented on one of the other reviewer's notes, I sort of agree on the whole "Ewan says he wants to go green, Starbucks, etc.." but I'm giving him a bit more of a break. Maybe I wasn't focused on trying to spot the Starbucks' coffee cups as much as that reviewer, but I noticed plenty of normal coffee being drunk by Ewan (whatever the store had) and just plain water. Also, we can all be hypocrites in one way or another. Most of us would like to be part of bettering the world, but a lot of us would be hard pressed to give up our creature comforts. I know that society these days seems all too willing to want to jump down people's throats rather than to just take care of their own little part of the world. I think if most of us did what we could, that's all you can really ask for. As far as what little compensation was given to these companies and employees, is that something any show really chooses to film? I'm sure that's all done behind the scenes and the companies themselves choose to donate to whatever cause in exchange for marketing and promotion. What companies choose to do and what private citizens choose to do of their own volition is their right. I didn't really see anyone annoyed at having to put up with these two - in fact, just the opposite. That's what made watching these series so enjoyable - that there were people all over the world willing to help. Imagine if Ewan just whipped out several thousand dollars out of his wallet to pass out to the Harley Davidson employees in front of the camera and made sure it wasn't edited out. That wouldn't seem pompous or contrived at all. I do miss Charlie's random goofiness from the previous series - not that it's not there, but it seemed a bit subdued in the first episodes. I'm not sure if it's from any physical pain he may still be in or the constant worry of being stranded or whatever else. I like how they saved the Claudio surprise until a bit later. I just wish we saw a bit more of him and the support team as well.
