Finally a show with a great SCRIPT! Everything everything everything !!! It all hangs on it The young Aussie actress is outstanding as well as the comically talented young American actress who plays the frazzled sister ( soz no names spring to mind ) A balance of comedy and drama is tricky but they all pull it off The “ Cliff house” it’s set in is absolutely stunning and that location to die for (Can I move in ? My daughter assures me it’s a studio set and much of it is cgi but one can dream ) Really enjoy the twists and turns of this highly entertaining show and the unpredictability is great We didn’t see THAT coming Well paced and fun as well as clever ! “ Cliff Hanger “ anyone ?

I love this movie You can take it at face value and just enjoy the story and musical numbers and not get too engrossed in the different levels of detail of meaning Its a love story to the “city of Angels” that provides colour, movement and light through the artists that live and work there for us to enjoy- the sentimental old fashioned romances that Hollywood churned out for entertainment and the musicals that are no longer in fashion 2. It’s about the pursuit of individual dreams and the sacrifices made to achieve these dreams at the expense of relationships. It’s a bold choice for the lovers to not end up together an exact opposite ending of the very romances that have been churned out of the machine since the beginning of Hollywood It’s anti romantic when she sees he’s given up his dream of jazz for a more modern ( cringe) sound 3. It’s about fantasy vs reality of the romantic idea of the artistic pursuit of your dreams vs the reality of having a steady job It’s very good and I enjoy it each time I see it

Charming funny feel good story about a group of synchronized swimmers that meet every week at a local pool The all male group is based on a real life idea from Sweden to protest the “ meaninglessness of life” and to bring back joy into their lives The actors all seem to be having a great time in the pool and you can see how fit they all from it !! I enjoyed this and it a lot of fun especially once they started getting better at it Worth a watch (-:

MUST WATCH Profoundly extraordinary life affirming film which I found to be deeply affecting. I cannot rave enough about what for me is one of the best documentary films ever made and at the right time. When all seems hopeless and lost this film shows that Milagros ( miracles) happen. The story is as much about the missing children as it is the mysteries of the jungle, the difficulties of conflict between indigenous people and the military in Colombian society, the duenos ( evil spirits). And, the rituals undertaken by the indigenous people searching for the children to protect themselves against evil forces which can only protect them for so long. The contrast between their methodology and the army and the intersection between them is so striking and powerful and takes the story from the personal to the collective This was a tragedy which healed many a troubled soul It’s extraordinary I watched the search unfold with dread and awe We do not know how the children survived really, other than the elders asked the jungle to give them back and it did - after 40 days. Amazing !

SPOILERS ***** 2.5 stars Finally gotten around to Watching this show Quite disappointed in season 1 I’m finding it sloppy and uneven It’s not a tight show The whole thing should have just focussed on the experience of being lost in the wilderness Cutting back and forth to the present day is tedious to watch Ended up pausing it for a few days as it got so boring The Laura Lee episode is one episode with real pathos and momentum ! The only teen I felt was making an effort was the one playing Misty as she’s so diabolical and manipulating! She was great ! Otherwise acting is bit of all over the place So much more could have been done in this show

This show is SO FRUSTRATING It is so SLOW! The pace is driving me insane If I see Colman Domingo lying down one more time I’m going to scream. He’s shown lying on his back in the forest, twice; on the beach, in a caravan, on a bed, on another bed! Domingo is trying his best with a convoluted plot and slow direction but this story of who the protagonist is or was is so confusing and unfocused and suffers because why should I care !? Everything is too complicated to follow and I keep hoping everything will fall into place but it keeps going off in new directions. Nothing that happened before gets resolved ! It’s really unsatisfying to watch Why is his wife saying back off ! Why is his son upset ? I’m not sure if this is a racist terrorism plot or if it’s an emotional narrative about a family in Philadelphia ? If it’s about some deranged techbro or something else !! I don’t know still what it’s about and I’m about to watch the last 12 minutes but ultimately it is very boring and I don’t care anymore 😞

Absolutely atrocious I watched the first two eps and was so bored and confused as to why this was getting released Nicole!!! Please stop hiring Suzanne Bier to “ direct “ She can’t direct and it’s embarrassing The tone of this crap was all over the place This was absolutely the worst piece of shit I’ve seen in a long time Charmless vile characters poor acting poor script terrible terrible terrible Watch anything else but this Long live Practical Magic

Effecting touching and stark From “a long long time ago “ in 1970 ! That’s only 54 years but the world is unrecognizable now The young people have no technology One character only reads and does not watch tv It’s set at a very isolated lonely freezing stark cheerless miserable school /-: Made me feel depressed thinking about it I could not live there it was truly freezing and snowed in Amazing the way they were able to create this era and style the film exactly like a movie from that era even with crackle sounds on the title sequence I was 5 years old in 1970 but had older siblings his age My feeling is that the teacher is a permanent “ Holdover “ in that he’s never managed to realise his potential and is stunted from living at that horrible school where he’s less and less happy each year and less and less respected That’s just my impression of that character It’s also about class, race, privilege , grief, child neglect and mental illness I did not find it comical but at times wryly observant of human nature A slow pace but it still makes for an enjoyable watch I’ll likely rewatch as it’s an artistically made film with great music also
