Serious spoilers ahead! My husband and I watched and we gave it two stars for Rob Pattinson's acting. Honestly, if this review was just about his acting of two personalities in the same body it would be 5 stars. The movie started out really interesting, bringing in the question of religion and morality into space travel and cloning (which is totally something America would do.) If the movie was just about that it would've been thought provoking, chilling, and entertaining. However! They bring in these wooly mammoth/rolly-polly-looking "aliens" into the mix and the movie just completely loses us. They also somehow managed to make it blatantly obvious the main bad guy is supposed to represent a Trump/dictator character which did nothing for the plot. It did leave me wanting to turn it off because holy hell I read about Trump every day can we just not?? So, for a space movie fanatic this had a great start and great acting but zero visual appeal and zero likability with the weirdo bison aliens and silly dictator character. Left a bad taste in my mouth.
