Night Librarian

For me Ragnarok is the surprise of the summer and is a pleasure to watch. It's European slant makes it new and refreshing from all the American takes on foreign cultures. For once, the story takes place in its country of origin, and is not somehow transported to New York. Basically, it's like Neil Gaiman's "American Gods," but more loyal to its heritage, and to its geographical and cultural roots. The actors are pretty, but not models, which helps the characters be more believable and easier to identify with. At the same time, gay representation is quite satisfying, allowing for characters to be gay, without being defined by their sexual orientation. Here's hoping for a third season, or at least more of this good stuff.
