I wanted to love this film. But, aside from it being well-acted and the scenery, the story falls flat. Unfortunately, there were too many holes and hard-to-believe elements in the story just muddied the experience. Period dress/costuming was great for the male characters. But, it seems the women actors were just sent to the Goodwill to fetch their wardrobe. Unfortunately, this is a “don’t bother.”
