1923 started strong, but it quickly devolved into a drawn-out, low-quality mess. The pacing drags with soap opera-style drama that feels forced and pointless, making the whole experience frustrating to sit through. The deaths of Alexandra’s British friends, who were inexplicably frozen while trying to drive, were absurd. Spencer’s storyline lost all momentum, and the killing of the younger Dutton, John Dutton Sr. (played by James Badge Dale), felt like a cheap shock tactic. That was the last straw for me. I regret wasting time on this.
