In an attempt to recycle what made Ready Player One an excellent read, Ready Player Two smacks of a rushed ‘dash for cash’ by the author/publisher who wants to capitalise on the Success of Ready Player One. Where Ready Player One charmingly appealed and referenced 80’s geek nostalgia throughout a gripping plot Ready Player Two has no build up or a quarter of the originality that made the first novel so good. I do not recommend to anyone who puts Ready Player One in their top 10. I sincerely hope that the release of this book was based upon publisher pressure and not author pride.
