Some great actors and fabulous staging will never recover a mediocre script. I felt that a promising storyline was quietly simmering away, only for someone give up and turn the heat off 10 minutes early. The staging and setting was great, although even this was failed in one of the last scenes (when the nuns briefly stop during their ride away) where they were clearly in the UK, perhaps Snowdonia or the Lake District. That same scene does, however, have a touching exchange between the main two characters. It rather left me wanting more!
