Putting aside the separation from Tolkien’s lore. It is just a dumb story with bad writing. The one positive aspect is the visual effects. But how does any of this make sense? Spoilers ahead. A small group of villagers leaving a fortress to fight an army of orcs from a wooden tavern, a volcano erupting on command, and no main characters dies no matter how injured (they just walk it off).
