This movie was terrible and very hard to watch. I have been a monster high fan since 2014. They changed the characters personality, style, accents, and everything that makes them, THEM. The makeup was also terrible, and the movie just rubbed me off the wrong way. Ghoulia Yelps is a zombie who speaks Zombie language and is always there to help her friends in need and very smart. Cleo and Duce is the most infamous couple in the monster high franchise they would never break up, and if they did, they would get back together. Why is Frankie moving so weirdly throughout this film, her body operates just fine, her hand falls off every now and then but that was something the og monster high movies had to remember her. Why is Clawdeen straight and nerd like, Clawdeen is a fashion icon, sassy and dreams to be a fashion designer in boo York city. Clawdeen is also a FULL on werewolf and has 2x the vision of a human why the hell is she wearing glasses and skating. Why is Draculaura sarcastic, sassy, and missing her sweet, high pitched Dracula accent. Why does Abby bominable not have her accent or humor either, why is Duce not wearing shades for everyone’s protection that beats the purpose of his character and the Medusa mythology. But I will give this movie an extra star for effects and editing. They did an amazing job with that. Draculaura turning into a bat, Clawdeen jumping to her balcony, that was really cool. But damn it, the acting was terrible, it really gave Disney channel vibes. Ghoulia’s first appearance really made me cringe and upset, I stopped watching there. Ghoulia is also very fashionable, smart and witty, why is she walking around with dirt in her teeth with a terrible sense of humor??
