I have read the books twice and my main feedback is that the series seems to be trying a little too hard. It's refreshing to see the diversity in casting as I think the books allowed for that scope. I dont like some of the plot changes around character relationships (e.g. Suian and Morgaine being portrayed as lovers rather than friends). In many cases the sex scenes feel like an exercise in box ticking rather than an integral part of the story. Also I am disappointed in the decision to write in more suspense around who the dragon can be. I'm up to E6 and, although I will probably continue to watch as a fan of the books, I don't think I will be eagerly anticipating the next season as much as I did for GOT.
