I just finished the book and it didn't hold up to the greatness that was crafted on screen. This book has its good moments such as completely new moments that didn't make it into the film such as a scene involving the Manson Family and Rick Dalton's mental health, including the truth behind Cliff. What made the book disappointing was the fact that the epic ending scene from the film, which what made it such a great film, didn't even have the spotlight within the final pages, instead it is briefly mentioned around 100 pages into the novel. I love Once Upon A Time In Hollywood (the movie) however, the novel didn't exceed my expectations as I was enthusiastic about the possibility of having more than what was seen on the screen when watching it for the first time. 3/5 - decent writing - good new moments - disappointing ending
