Brilliant, playful, and hip. If you ever watched the show supernatural, it feels a bit like a modern play on that. My 12 year old and I really enjoyed it.

Mcgregor was the best part of this whole movie. Otherwise there just seemed to be no synchronicity between the cast. There are some copied pieces of the original roadhouse, but the nods to the timeless classic fall flat and feel cheesy next to a modernized script and plot. There is no character development and very little momentum. Worth watching one time, but don’t get too excited.

Season one- amazing Season two- falls flat. No chemistry between most of the actors. Season three- good, but plodding and less character development Season four- finally feels like true detective is BACK!

This was a heartbreaking, breathtaking, realistic masterpiece that had me weeping, 8 years and many steps forward after leaving my own abuser as a single mother. Everyone needs to watch this show. I own a company now and support DV victims as an advocate in my spare time, and so many pieces of this show resonated deeply in both personal and case study ways. The little nuances (like “LEGAL LEGAL LEGAL” as a terminology stand in in the court room) are BRUTALLY indicative of how this process goes. Dark, honest, chilling, motivating, eye opening. Please watch.
