I've just watched this movie again after years of not seeing it . I think as I've gotten older I've realized the issue , obviously you can't replace Robert englund and that's ok , Jackie Haley (think that's his name) is convincing enough but the issue is Freddy is a killer with comedic undertones which this movie sorely shifts on and becomes more menacing and I feel this happens alot with 2010s remakes they tone shift is what damages the product.
I'd say it's still a decent movie but the tone shift is what breaks the character
