Enjoyable, but a bit daft. There’s a good yarn and some historical detail, but it’s got a very modern mindset and Ms Groff should have done a bit more research about England. For example, there are no hummingbirds in England. Never have been. And if you’re writing historical fiction, it’s worth researching this stuff. It gets noticed by English people.
