I really did not like the book cause of various reasons; the language, the theme and the characters. I have read it many times but could not grasp the thing or two. Characters are really different they all are from different walks of life. No matter how many times you read it you always tend to forget the characters and their stories. Since this book was written in middle ages you won't understand the language the words. You really need to have a lot of patience for this book. Peace!

3 light how Maria has painted everything from her journey e from Dhaka to Jersey City. And I really like the way she has portrayed every thing in the book whether it's the character or place. It's a must read memoir. I also liked the way she is choosing the words to convey her story.
