The series is based on a book written by JP Delaney. BBC had picked up original book 'The girl before' and made a series, which wasn't as good as the book. ITV done a good job with great actors for Playing Nice. It is an unbelievable story line, however majority of JP Delaneys booked are as of that, fiction. As an author his books are gripping despite being a little far fetched storylines. He is an amazing author in terms of drawing you into a storyline through the pages of a book, so I can completely understand why TV series are getting picked up from the storylines. Would recommend reading the books and watching the series.
