I watched this film as a kid but did not appreciate it because I didn't have the depth nor intelligence to understand the greatest portrayal of good versus evil, Supernatural versus psychiatry, and some of the greatest psychologically moving dialogue. This movie is so good it is not even decades above its time but a timeless classic. Father karass is brilliant as an institutionalized priest who is put through medical school and begins to lose his faith for he has been taught both sides of the coin ie. the world of catholicism where there is weak evidence for the existence of God and angels and the world of medicine which is highly evidence-based and logical. This movie is under-appreciated even though it commonly ranks as the greatest horror of all time. It deserves mention with the greatest movies of all time in general
