Such an amazing mix of comedy, action, and emotional scenes….man I did not expect to cry 8 times while watching a sonic movie lol. Had me hooked from beginning to end, absolutely loved every second of if. I have to admit, keanu as shadow and gerald still being alive had me quite skeptical when the trailers first got out— I was also nervous about how shadow’s character would be interpreted in the movie’s universe but it appears that paramount has managed to exceed my expectations once again! seeing the elements and story of my favorite sonic game (sonic adventure 2) adapted into a movie was such a delight. Though keep in mind that this is not the "sonic adventure 2: the movie" most people expected, because it simply is not. it’s the movie universe’s version of the events. that’s not necessarily a bad thing, but they did handle some certain aspects quite differently. but all in all…this movie was such a pleasant experience in my opinion, seeing how both the kids and especially adults were so hyped throughout the entire thing in my theatre was quite amazing. unrelated, but hearing crush 40 and one ok rock in a sonic movie made my entire night. absolutely looking forward to rewatching this movie in cinema 2-3 more times!
