500 hours later this game is gone from my console never to return. The same predatory trash EOMM system that CoD has, coupled with some of the worst matchmaking ever, and this game just isn’t fun anymore.

The most overrated Final Fantasy game of all time. The single solitary worst minigames in any video game ever created. A complete joke.

300+ hours in, here are my thoughts. Bugs galore, and not the enemies. There are still absolutely run-ruining bugs in this game and while the devs happily nerf the communities favourite weapons, we still have stratagems clipping into the ground and several other issues. Repetitive with no end in sight. You do the same thing again, and again, and again, and again. It’s very fun at first but quickly becomes mundane. Absolutely inept devs. Found a gun you like? Want to have fun with it? Not allowed. Nerfs incoming. There’s a lot more to say but honestly those things alone make this game not worth picking up again. Check it out for free or cheap, play it until it bores you, shelf it and call it a day. Cause I promise you improvements will not come.

The buggiest, most unfinished game in the franchise. It’s no longer acceptable just because it’s CoD. These games stray further and further from what made the franchise great. SBMM is miserable, ensuring that even if you enjoy the mechanics of the game and the gameplay itself, you certainly won’t be enjoying them with your friends or in balanced lobbies. Characters regularly glitch and appear to be alive when they’re not, causing frustrating wasted bullets and in most cases death. Absolutely trash map selection, with two of the worst maps in franchise history. A horrendous and hideous UI which easily surpasses anything I previously thought was bad. A god awful, complicated and confusing gun leveling system, glitches that use all of your CoD tokens, TIMED PERKS that as a concept makes absolutely no sense. Oh and did I mention rampant camping because your footsteps can be heard in another country in this game? An utter piece of absolute garbage.

Sackboy is amazing a majority of the time. Fantastic costume variety, really fun to play couch co-op, which seems to happen less and less frequently nowadays. The story is lengthy and surprisingly difficult to 100% with the latter levels being downright crushing if you’re a stickler and want all of the orbs/gifts/etc. It has all the charm of the previous LBP games with a fresh spin on the platforming. Unfortunately it occasionally misses, leading to some VERY frustrating moments, which really dampened the fun I was having with it. Camera angles, some mechanics (diagonal bubble jumping, for example) and some less than stellar levels that require strict timing that the game doesn’t always abide by, had me scrambling to uninstall in the later stages. It’s important in a platformer (with a 10 minute obstacle course (ripsnorter) riddled with enemies and awkward jumping, where you only need to fall once or get hit by a single enemy to have to restart the entire arduous process,) to make sure that there’s very little margin for the game to cause you to mess up with janky mechanics. Unfortunately this happens from time to time. If you’re not a completionist you’ll have an absolute blast. If you are, buckle up and prepare to pull your hair out in the latter levels.

The best game I've ever played. A huge part of my childhood, and a game I don't think I could ever consider anything less than perfect.

Absolutely adore this game. The chemistry of the teammates makes it an enjoyable experience regardless of where you are. It would have been awesome to be able to switch between teammates and fully control Groot, Rocket and the others, but it's still very satisfying gameplay. Just the right amount of length, replayability, difficulty, and exploration. Similar to something like Jedi Fallen Order, if you need a reference point.
