I got the themes it was trying to convey, they were not subtle nor do I think you have to be at all smart to get them, but almost every scene feels dragged out, in some cases repetitive so feeling bored is justified. Critics tried to sell this as some thought provoking feminist masterpiece, hard to agree when the female protagonist has no personality and the whole "human experience" she's supposedly learning revolves exclusively around men. I was on a horror movie binge and this so far is at the bottom of the list and if I could go back in time I would just watch something else.
