Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is a terrible movie. The writing was awful. The film direction was worse. Perhaps the biggest tragedy? Its best performances came from characters who were wholly unnecessary to the plot. Speaking of which, there were 2-3 other villains crowding out the main antagonist.
Michael Keeton's acting couldn't save a bad script. Neither could Jenna Ortega's. Winona Rider, unfortunately, felt mostly wooden throughout the movie.
Tim Burton has done some fine work in his career. This isn't one of them. If he's serious about making a third Beetlejuice film, perhaps he ought to consult a Ouija board -- talk to better writers and directors from beyond the grave. Nothing short of divine, ghostly intervention could've resurrected this turd of a movie.
