I was so excited to watch this. I had just finished season one so I thought with Jodie Foster starring in this that it is was going to be excellent. It’s actually the worst thing I’ve ever seen. Could it have been written by A.I. using prompts of “give me a hard boiled female cop who sleeps around with married men and a partner who is also female but can beat up Everyman in their small dark Alaska town with her bare hands and then add a dancing ghost, frozen scientists, marginalized women, pollution, a big bad corporation, many many evil white men, many many side characters that do nothing to advance the plot, many many conversations that go nowhere, a few references to season one and a lot of Billy Elish music” I can’t imagine how this writing and storyline was approved by the network. Did anyone at HBO Max try to stop this train wreck? Night Country was so bad that it became comical - I did watch all the episodes —so at least I helped the ratings. You’re welcome HBO! I had to put at least one star but it deserves a zero. I wanted to love this. The audience deserve better.
