I've tried to read this like 5 times now and I can't do it. It has a really interesting world idea, and that could have been developed and leaned into better, but instead the author focuses on the modern pre teen drama of her flat characters that have zero development. The author wants to have super modern gender roles, token gay and Trans characters, language like a middle school, sex without true connection or real romance, an utter lack of actual plot. Its as if AI wrote a young adult fantasy novel. Truly lacks any depth whatsoever.

I couldnt finish this. I tried pretty hard just couldnt do it. This is trash. There's no depth or development in the one and only character. There is really poor and anemic world building. The author wrote this to try being ARTSY AND CLEVER. It's probably supposed to be some type of social commentary, however it's so disengaging and unentertaining that I couldnt get into it enough to discover this underlying theme. Its an ode to the authors ego and to quote my favorite character " oh the cleverness of me" is all I hear when reading this.
