this is an incredibly heartbreakingly beautiful film. the film encapsulates the reality of so many people in the community; but it was very refreshing in the sense that it focused on the love ziki and kena shared, and presented the hardships they faced as mere bumps in their road rather than the focal point of their entire story. their families' reactions were also complex and mixed/somewhat hard to get a definitive read on, which added another layer to the realism they portrayed so well in this film. it provided hope. the emotionality of it is simply unforgettable. i LOVED it. i can't find the words just yet excuse me i just finished watching it a half hour ago and i haven't had the time to let it all marinate just yet - but this film will resonate. 10/10. will be BUYING it.
