Had this have been a standalone movie, it would have worked much better. Whilst it’s not terrible, it’s lost the sparkle that the other films in the Conjouring universe have.
Would have felt more at home with the Haunting in Connecticut franchise.
These films work best on the haunted house premise and the scare aspects were really missing in this latest instalment.
