This showed a very good representation of anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts. What makes this film better is that this film is set in a Japanese society where these issues are not talked about a lot. This film also shows what’s it like to be deaf in society and in school and the struggles one has to go through when not being able to learn or socialize like normal people. I know most people criticize the rubbing of animation originating from Japan but the voice acting was not bad. Unlike most unprofessional voice acting that is used for Japanese animation, A Silent Voice actually had some well trained actors on this film which didn’t distract the audiences from the story.
