3 out of 10 The concept isn't really anything new. Humanity faces a crisis that wipes a bunch of people out or severely limits their quality of life and only the rich, lucky, and desperate fools can escape it while the rest die or live terrible lives. And, of course, there is a group that knows this is all BS and wants equality. Wants a fix. And may or may not use terrorist actions to bring about this fix. Though the movie mostly follows the fools that buy into the BS lies and get in the way of the terrorist. Still not a new idea or way of carrying it out, but fascinating all the same. That said, the movie is fairly slow and the world isn't well built up. The characters and setting are fairly flat. There is action but I never found myself very invested in it because the characters were kind of flat and underdeveloped as was the world. And then there is the ending. It's one of those movies where the ending felt like when you're writing a paper for school and fall asleep before you can write the conclusion. So there isn't anything to pull the whole paper together at the end. Because, really, the movie doesn't pick up until the last twenty minutes of the roughly hour and a half film. Everything else is like a really long trailer or prologue or something and then the last fifteen to twenty minutes is when things pick up. But then this major even happens. Two major events actually. Two events that should have changed things or had some kind of major fallout. But it cuts out right after without any show of how anyone reacted to these events or what happened to any of the characters. There's just a vague and confusing scene for a brief moment afterwards that I wasn't even sure what was and then roll credits. Honestly, could have been fairly good if this was the pilot episode to a series. Could have been okay if they showed what effect those events had on the story. But instead, we spend the entire hour and half working up to those events, getting those people in the room, and then that's it??? What happened to the main character? What happened to that society after they learned the truth? I guess we're expected to figure it out ourselves or make it up for ourselves? Overall, slow and underdeveloped. Relying mainly on a viewers desire to confirm what they already guessed and nothing more. Terrible ending that didn't really conclude anything or give you enough to work with to even decide your own ending. It's not the worst movie ever but I'd probably give it a 3 out of 10. And that's mostly because I love the base concept. It doesn't bring anything new to the table or even manage to be exciting about it though, but it is bearable to watch I guess.

Riverdale has been, without a doubt, a wild ride. Murder, mystery, teen drama, adult drama, cults, serial killers, drug dealers, gangs, it's got nearly everything... including some musical episodes. The real question starts to become, does it have too much? And why does it always look like 1900's/1800's met the more recent 2000's? Seriously, there's these old timey tv's and landline phones and the doctors and stuff all look like you pulled them out of the 1900's... but we are definitely in the recent 2000's. There's smartphones and laptops. Anyway, not really important, but it gives a very weird vibe to a lot of the show. But other than that, the first two seasons were exciting and fun. The third... I'm still on the edge about. The third feels more like some crazy fan fiction with dungeons and dragons gone horrible wrong and a crazy cult and all the relationships that fall apart or start. It's been a bit of a giant hard to watch mess. It had a rocky start too. I'm guessing the writers were just having a hard time outdoing the first two seasons so they decided to go crazy and I'm going to keep believing that's the reason why the third season is so out there.
