I just finished watching the first season of this series. Personally, the series was okay, but I did not really enjoy watching it. For every episode after episode 6 I was just simply skipping ahead every 10 seconds so I could see how it ends and be done with it. In terms of plot, the world building was adequate. The way they established Matheson and introduced characters was satisfactory. However, the plot itself and the turnout of events was very frustrating. None of the characters were generally likable or relatable. All of the characters made terrible decisions, and their reactions to the events that happened were either unrealistic, illogical, or untimely. Everything bad thing that happened was a result of their bad decisions. This is what made the bulk of the plot. It seems like the writers made them make bad decisions to lengthen the series and give it more thickness, which I as a consumer did not enjoy. I'm sure I am not alone when I say that every watcher hates it when the lead roles make terrible decisions in times of crisis, such as failing to act on time, not planning ahead, or doing something without consulting or reflecting on what they did like any normal or sane person would. well, trust me when I tell you that if you're looking for reflective, logical, rational, and generally likable characters, do not watch this series as they are the complete polar opposite of the Baudelaire children from a series of unfortunate events. you will mostly feel disappointment, pissed off, and even rooting for the antagonist since everyone in the series is just borderline demented. Given this, there's no denying that the special effects, graphics, and overall premise are good. The concept and story is new and refreshing, however most of the problems i found in this series were intrinsic such as the plot, turnout of events, the characters and their development. Personally I do not really look forward to another season, but hopefully they focus more on the content and screenplay this time around and patch up or fix the loop holes.
