Endeavor constantly delivers the highest quality writing, acting, directing and human drama of any show on television. The seventh season opens with a romantic bang at an opera house in Italy and the pace intensifies from there with a creepy serial killer on the "towpath." Endeavor continues to engage our mental and emotional interest with riveting plots and complicated characters. Thursday, Bright, Strange and Endeavor (what an interesting collection of names for the main characters) consistently show us stellar acting and create some of the most intriguing, appealing characters on TV.

If you like the Perry Mason character as Erle Stanley Gardner wrote him, you will be sickened by this HBO tv version of him as a total loser. Why did the writer and producers try so hard and pointlessly to create some noir anti hero in Mason? I kept asking myself why are you serving up the lowest elements of society, iced with sex and violence, to an American audience that would rather see the better if imperfect elements of ourselves in TV characters who are at least trying to do some good in the world? We need that now more than ever.
