Shoutout to all the people complaining that the book made them uncomfortable because of the sexual urge suppression (that lasts maybe two pages) or (spoiler) discovering release is essentially murder, or was inappropriate because "laws were unconstitutional in this community" or because Jonas bathed an elderly woman. The point of the book is to make you uncomfortable as you discover more about this society. The book is supposed to make you uncomfortable with these elements. It's a dystopian future novel. If you were comfortable reading aspects of this book then there's probably something wrong with you. Overall it is a well written book (not all that complicated to read despite people complaining it used too many big words, it's called a thesaurus fool and also it didn't). It's a unique take on the utopia/dystopian future and tackles the importance of our personal freedoms and choices, no matter how big or small. In my opinion it is a very engaging and pretty quick read that I highly recommend.
