This was an incredible documentary, about one of the greatest conductors America, and the world has ever seen. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. I was moved to tears by the end. I was particularly intrigued by the concert footage scattered throughout the film, though. I would truly love to be able to see those full concerts if such footage exists. Does anyone know if there is a way? Anyway, I highly recommend this to anyone; a great way to learn about the one and only "Dean of choral music".

This is an incredible work of literature, that everyone should read and know, at least once; along with the great works of Shakespeare. As a musician, I kept thinking, while reading it, that if only composers like Verdi, Berlioz or Dvorak got hold of this text to create a dramatic oratorio about it. How epic would that be??!! :-) Over all, this is a fantastic work. I am a Christian, but whether or not someone is religious, it would still make for a great read.
