I watched the segment on Thursday 1/24 featuring the government worker that is furloughed and experiencing hardship. I too am a federal employee and I have been identified as an "excepted" from furlough and had to work without pay since the shutdown started. I had vacation time scheduled over the holidays and that was cancelled. I'm only one of the 100k+ of employees that have to work without pay and I understand that we will get paid when the government reopens, but the bills keep coming and we can't put off paying them for when the government reopens. so I don't think is was overdone and thank you for helping my fellow government worker. I myself been trying to make ends meet until I get paid and it's getting harder and harder every day. Furthermore, issues like illegal immigration, poor trade agreements, etc have nothing to do with the funding of the government and they should be addressed separately rather than to use OUR JOBS as a bargaining chip.
