I found the plot absurd the dialogue all boringly delivered in hushed tones. A constant wave of samey soundtrack. Too many references to former successful films, as if this might give this supposed final film some kudos. Far too long a film that showed nothing new, neither in plot nor in stunts. I have read there was a big new stunt at the end. I didn't stay that long. 2hrs 51mins is far too long for an uninspiring film. When one of the cast said ' I've gotta get out of here', I thought " Me too" and I left.

A trite and banal script. Based on the premise that there are four gay friends who are all looking after elderly disabled mothers. Really, that's a pretty big coincidence, not to mention a stretch for the imagination!!. Dull dreary dialogue punctuated by only one amusing scene for me. Avoid this and look for the Italian original which it emulates....badly.

I can't believe the reviews I'm seeing for this film, and I'm a big fan of Clint Eastwood as a director, but this was not one of his greats by any measure. I wasted 45 minutes of my life before giving up on an inane, banal plot moving at a glacial pace and nonsensically trying to weave peoples stories from around the world together. Lame Duck comes to mind. I looked at the Guardian review after turning it off and it was 1 star and I think even that was generous. Dear oh dear Clint, how did this go so badly wrong? I've given it 1 star because I had to in order to make this post.

I am amazed that the Guardian reviewer has given this film 4'stars and described it as ' Movie of the week'. I went to see it on the basis of this review and by halfway I no longer cared who killed who and who lived or died. Terrible thin storyline and poor characterisation. It is interesting that the reviewers at the Guardian are all young and so more accepting of this hollow, boys toys film rubbish.

I echo other reviewers that this could be a good idea, killed by the banality and irritating behaviour of joe in particular

What a load of unremitting cheese. Slushy, dreary, hard to believe and a waste of a good around two hours of my life, that I will never get back. I have made a note of this film director to AVOID !!!

Netflix describes this film as a ' nerve shredding thriller'. It certainly shredded my nerves but not in a thrilling way, more in a bored with the glacial pace and frustrated with the inadequate absurd plot way. Nowhere near the same category as other sf works. Wasted almost two hours of my life. Don't waste your time.

I can say it in much shorter format than the rest. Poor plot. Inadequately resolved. At best some promising aspects, but poorly resolved into a coherent narrative.Better scriptwriting and directing required!

Just seen this film and asked myself why I allowed myself to be influenced by the 'Palme d'Or status! Afterwards looked at two reviews by professional reviewers Mark Kermode and Peter Bradshaw with diametrically opposed reviews. I agree with Peter Bradshaws review that it is a 'car crash of a film'. It has nothing going for it on any level. Lover's of gore and schlock horror might be attracted to it on a very basic level, but the script is so unbelievable and clumsily handled, the outcomes so pathetic and boringly derivative that any references to/ or comparison with Cronenberg are in fact an insult to an outstanding creative person. Nul point I'm afraid. (Had to give it one star as wasn't allowed to post review without it)
