Seasons 1, 2 and 3 were good. Season 4 could and should have been written and produced in a far superior manner. First, it’s shot in a nearly total darkness filter, even in daylight scenes, making it incredibly difficult to see, especially the myriad (and weird) night scenes. The script and plot for S4 simply don’t flow and is very confusing to follow. Watch out for the wildly cringy noir scene in E2 of “Mr Painkiller.” Just fast forward that as it’s totally irrelevant to the general plot. And if you’re a courtroom fan of good trial tactics, you’ll be disappointed because of the blatant irregularities in courtroom ethics and practices. It just makes for cringful viewing. I’m essentially sorry I didn’t stop at S3. It’s just a shame.

Absolutely historically inaccurate for 90% of the series. Albert is made to be adversarial to Victoria instead of her staunch ally. The relationship depicted with Victoria and her sister Feodora is rife with falsehoods and bogus infighting between them. If you want fantasy, this may appeal to you. If you’re seeking an accurate, historical perspective on her early rein, move along. This is mostly made up fiction. And I’m truly disappointed in that.
