I’m liking “ok”, but it’s lacking the comedy, quirkiness and warmth of the original French version that makes it so funny and enjoyable. I loved Kaitlin Olson in The Mick but don’t feel she captures the warmth and quirkiness of Morgan that Audrey Fleurot does so beautifully in the French version. And the mysteries are way too cut and dried and slightly unbelievable in the US version, whereas the original is done with way more finesse. In a nutshell, this version has been dumbed down - but if you need something light to turn off your brain or have on in the background, this is it. It’s enjoyable enough.

When I saw some of the cast from Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Schitt’s Creek, I knew I was going to love this. It’s daggy, it’s silly but it’s actually super super sweet as well. It’s just a really sweet and silly Christmas movie. And if you’re happy with that, then you’ll enjoy it

3.5* from me. I loved Death in Paradise and watched every episode. The writing and the plots in those shows made total sense and I don’t think I ever guessed any of the killers in advance. However, after watching the first three episodes of this series, I have guessed the killer and how they did it before I was halfway through in both episodes two and three which is a little disappointing. Plots do need to be better. The lead actress and her crazy eyes are definitely over the top, but for some reason I’m still kind of enjoying these, probably more so because of the side characters, though I’m not hating the lead, even though it feels a little bit like she’s trying a bit too hard to be quirky. This show is easy, light and fun and sometimes that’s all you want. So knowing what I’m getting when I turn one of these episodes on is comforting and enjoyable when I choose to watch. I do recommend and would ideally give 3 1/2 out of 5 if had that option.

Beautifully shot but I found it could have been told in far fewer episodes. For me there were way to many long lingering shots of characters faces doing nothing and I began to wish I could fast forward but didn’t want to miss anything if they did speak. The way Alice begins speaking again is trite and I just wanted to punch June. She didn’t make much sense to me considering she is meant to be a safe space for abused women. Overall it’s heavy and if there were fewer episodes To tell the same story, I would’ve given it at least four stars.

This movie is seriously nuts and barely made sense half the time but by God it made me smile and laugh. They must have had a ball making this.

Normally love these kitschy types of English quirky detective shows, and I really like some of these actors so was excited to watch. But when you’ve guessed the killers from the clues within the first 20 minutes it becomes utterly pointless. Annoyed.

I suspended reality and fell into the magical wonderfulness of this movie. Simply joyful.

I really enjoyed this show, the quirky characters interesting mysteries. But into season seven and so far through season eight I’ve been able to pick who it is straight away. It’s like the storylines have gotten lazy and everything feels a little too obvious now rather than being cleverly quirky and funny, I hope it goes back to its original cleverness.

I can’t tell whether this is meant to be a soap opera or is just trying so hard to be edgy and gritty that it’s turned itself unwittingly into a joke. Dana Delany is fantastic as usual, but Ron Perlman trying to do vulnerable was just cringey and awkward to watch. Could have filled some time but the characters are horrible to top it off so there’s no one to even root for. This is just a little embarrassing. I don’t recommend you waste your time; listen to the professional reviewers on this one.

Average. Some bad overly dramatic acting. A lot of unrealistic actions/storylines, ie as if they wouldn’t have done a full psych evaluation on someone they’re sending to Mars, and as if the captain wouldn’t have put contingencies in place to better secure the base’s wings from the outdoors. Filled the time, but cheaply done and unrealistically dramatic for no reason.
