Big dramatic voice with superhuman interpretive skills and wonderfully violent nordic (German) vowels... on top of epic 1960s orchestral arrangements framing heart-rending songs by the likes of Serge Gainsbourg, Bob Lind, Pierre Delanoë and even Albinoni! Much too good to be dismissed with the 'Schlager' label I've often seen attached to her name, this album keeps good company with the late 60s works of the likes of Jacques Brel, Esther Ofarim and Scott Walker. Highly recommended.
