As a movie tackling AI it is a relevant addition to the pantheon of movies with that topic. I think the weakness of the story comes in the almost apathetic position of the world with the violent genicidal position of the US where they kill innocents with no consequence. It is basically another Vietnam war film set in the future. But set in 2065 it is sad to see no immediate consequences at a time when communication should be instantaneous already. Then there was the premise of “we can’t harm people” to justify the simulants not killing the main female character. But then there were “police” robots and sinulants with n compunction in doing so, not to mention the freedom-fighter simulants. So I love the genre and I’m glad we have this movie to add to it, but they could have done much better in writing the story.

The film answered a few questions and tightened the idea of where BW was after Winter Soldier. the family dynamics were the only part that was a bit strained, but for me it mostly worked. i am now intrigued as to what happened to the family members after the Blip. and if Yelena becomes the new BW. :)

Makes you realize how deep the doping problem is and how spineless the IOC is.
