Plot:Disappearance of an Indian Sikh child and subsequent murder,a most nonexpected climax, excellent acting, set in the Indian community in Britain in the backdrop of two of the most deadly issues plaguing communities the world over, religious clashes and drugs.
Cast: kareena kapoor khan in her sans make up look, looks every inch the grieving mother who has lost her child to a mindless shootout, yet wears the veneer of having put it all behind her just because she has a job to do as a police officer.
Chef Ranveer Brar a surprise package, and the man excels not only at cooking but acting too. He shines as the grieving father, yet the misogynistic husband who doesn't think twice before hitting his wife and doesn't think much of her.
The other cast play their parts well.
Climax:A most unexpected, disturbing climax. What seems like a religious clash turns out to be an act of vengeance but for a very different reason.
Direction and pace.:Well directed, a little slow but that actually shocks more as the climax unfolds.
Cons:Not much is revealed about Jass' background as a single mother, maybe to keep focus on her loss and her subsequent attempt at healing.
Overall a good crime thriller watch that leaves you a tad disturbed especially if you are a mother yourself, but a different subject. Not a movie I would spend money on to watch in the theatre but happily watched on Netflix.
