It was gripping from the start and didn't let up. Refreshingly short of clichés (but see below) which have been a tiresome feature of some other books I've recently read. Probably set in the 1980s, the characters and their environment are well fleshed out although I didn't have a lot of sympathy for them because of their casual loss of control that led to the first killing. Only criticism is that a gun once again had to make an appearance as the solution to all problems.
