This is the best series I have ever seen! I can't tell you what I like about it because I like EVERYTHING! It will make you laugh out loud, it will make you cry real tears, it will break your heart, and restore it again. If you enjoy a love story, this is the greatest love story EVER TOLD! It is 100% believable.The acting is superb! Were they really acting? We all know that people can't travel through time, but WHAT IF THEY COULD? It's a "period piece" in several different periods, WWII, post war, 1700s, fifties and sixties, later 1700s. Every detail is period correct (that I saw, although I'm not an expert, (close enough for me). The scenery is BEAUTIFUL! It takes you THERE! The score/background music, gee, I can't say, I didn't notice it, so it must have been GREAT! Not for children or the faint of heart. A lot of nudity. I didn't mind it because I think a woman's body is BEAUTIFUL! Naked men, not so much, but I've seen them in the locker room. Violence, it's a violent world. Rape, it's unfortunately a violent world. Homosexuality, again a part of this world. For the most part the homosexuality is not overdone with ONE major exception. When I rewatched the series, one set of scenes I couldn't watch a second time and fast forwarded through them. It was the one sequence that for me, (no prude) was "over the top". So degrading and disgusting to my nature I couldn't watch those scenes again. There was a point to it and knowing what had happened was necessary in understanding future scenes, but the realness of it, the evil of it, was more than my sensibilities could take. The villain is usually a depraved, evil, person and in this story or ANY story, there has never been a more EVIL depraved villain. Not to scare you off. A couple of disturbing scenes are nowhere near enough to change my overall opinion of this beyond excellent series. If I could give it a ten **********, I'd give it Eleven ***********
