One of my primary purchases during my adolescence and introduction to UK punk rock. “Bodies” was my favorite with most of the other songs not connecting with my underdeveloped cognitive abilities. Listening through the record again at 36 and think this record is a classic for good reason and showcases some timeless songs brought to the masses through teenage angst and notch marketing practices. Always leaning toward UK post-punk offerings, I can rewardingly comment on the weight the Pistols threw to listeners all those decades back. A personal “thank you” to John Lydon and his unique musical vision and output from the year 2022. Disclaimer: This is not (meant to be) a love song,” just a gesture of gratitude toward the record as I revisit it as a whole some 20 years later. God Save the Queen 🎸
