Overall opinion: 6/10
Gameplay: 9/10
Story/Plot: 3/10
Performance/Framerate: 7/10
Characters/Missions: 8/10
Gameplay:
Amazing, the game feels so fresh and fun to play, and each time I got a new character I felt excited to play as them and see if I preferred them over others. The bosses are unique and creative, also adding new characters and boss designs. I wouldn’t say the game is hard, but it does have a few missions that can be overwhelming and a bit hard.
Story/Plot: (SPOILERS FOR ENDING)
This game’s biggest problem. They advertised this game it’s announcement and trailer as a bigger backstory into the champions and that it was a prequel to Breath of the Wild. And NO, it was not like that. At the end of the game, you all team up against Calamity Ganon, and Zelda, Link and the Champions actually beat him, creating a parallel universe JUST BECAUSE Terrako went through a small portal during the main BOTW timeline?! The ending totally messes with the timeline and jumps the sharks in so many ways! That ending sometimes just sounds like a joke whenever I think about it! Overall the story is really bland and the ending is weird, maybe I’m being too harsh, I am generally not sure.
Performance:
It’s okay. I don’t know much about tech and framerate and really don’t care a lot about it, but there were times the game made my switch’s fan go extremely fast and it does lag occasionally from the tons of screen effects on screen, and the crowds of enemies and tons of other things.
Characters/Missions:
The game consists of 19 characters (not including DLC) and 20 Main Story Missions (Not including Blood Moons, side quests, or DLC missions). The characters you can play as are mainly characters you see in BOTW like Master Kohga, Monk Maz Koshia and tons of more. I personally myself think that the character roster in Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition is better, because there are more characters and they aren’t all just seen in BOTW. They also just have generally iconic characters like Sheik, Ruto, Midna and a few original character that are only from that game like Cia, Lana, Volga, and MAYBE Linkle. Many and almost all of the Missions in Age Of Calamity are fun, while others are long, boring and hard. There are way too many side quests too keep track of, and all of them give you almost nothing that helps you in the game at all.
