One star is too many. If you know the story -- this isn't it. If you don't know the story you don't stand a chance of making it through 10 minutes. The Monty Python titles don't help. This movie was written for a select few, of which I am not one. This might work for a mythology 201 course with chapter by chapter analysis and comparison with the original. This was the most plodding story with no character development at all (aside from Gawain).
I would imagine that the best way to honor this movie would be to read the original going in and watch it at home alone or with other s of like interest.
Two hours is way too long. Sir Richard Attenborough could have narrated between scenes.
OK...I'll admit I'm a neanderthal (23andMe says so), but for this movie to have any kind of wider appeal (especially for the $$$ poured into it) you're gonna need to bring the wider audience to the story somehow.
