The Last kingdom is honestly, pretty underwhelming, if you look past the handsome protagonist and the "screw the system" vibe, what you have at its core is a pretty predictable story with 2 dimensional characters. All the bad people are very bad, and all the good people are very good. The good guys always win and the bad guys always lose, except for maybe a few minor losses ere and there. The predictably written plot is in newd of some realism and a protagonist who makes serious mistakes and doesnt know know exactly what to do in a every single situation.
