I just finished a 2 week binge watch on Netflix and liked the show. Unlike other hospital shows that depict the mostly steady stereotypical lives of doctors, this show takes you on a crazy ride down the train wreck of their lives. It’s very entertaining and a great watch but pumps a forced message in every episode that gets a little tiring at times. A couple of points to that effect are:
Of the country’s entire LGBT community, apparently +80% statistically live in Seattle and for some unknown reason they are the unhealthiest or unluckiest people there.
You can be crazy and unstable and be allowed near people with knives. I kept expecting someone to step in and get people help but it never happened, which would have helped the story line at times and been somewhat realistic. Additionally it would have been a great forum to push mental heath issues since they continually push the previously mentioned issue.
Also along the lines of realism, in the military scenes, why were the men never shaved or the women’s hair never up as regulations require? As a veteran I found that somewhat disrespectful.
Overall it is a great show that was very entertaining and worth the binge as long as you’re solely looking for entertainment with minimal realism.
Update: I feel obligated to watch this last season since I have spent so much time already watching it. This final season they decided to go full on social justice warrior mode and quite honestly the level of BS propaganda is disturbing. This has actually ruined a decent series and makes me regret watching at all.
